pieratt: I can’t wait for the day when @mentions become a universal function. I suspect that eventually they will do much to organize our attention. Like little gravity wells sprinkled across the web, they’ll me where I’m needed, what I should be looking at, and where my attention is being requested. I find myself wanting to @mention someone on Tumblr almost daily. I tried @alerting someone in a Google Doc the other day as a means to get them in front of an open question.
